Book Presentation:
À Vevey s’est ouvert, depuis le printemps 2016, un musée dédié à Charlie Chaplin, l’homme, sa carrière. En 1952, Chaplin émigre en Suisse et vécut ses dernières années dans le Manoir de Ban, au bord du lac Léman avec sa dernière épouse, Oona O’neill et leurs huit enfants. C’est là, pendant 25 ans, qu’il écrit des scénarios, des livres, il compose et travaille à ses derniers films. Cette grande demeure s’est aujourd’hui transformée en un superbe musée, révélant son univers, sa vie intime et familiale, etc. Dans le parc, ont été reconstitués en sous-sol les décors de ses principaux films, les principaux acteurs en mannequins de cire. Des extraits de ses films (muets ou parlants) accompagnent le visiteur tout au long du parcours.
L’édition retrace donc la vie du célèbre réalisateur, acteur et musicien. Récits, témoignages, anecdotes, photos, sketches : l’univers de Charlot, génie du spectacle et humaniste indécrottable.
