Synopsis
Amies depuis les bancs de la faculté, Karen et Martha ont réalisé leur rêve en ouvrant un pensionnat de jeunes filles. Avec l'aide de la tante de Martha, Lily, elles dirigent un établissement qui jouit d'une bonne réputation. Fiancée au charmant docteur Cardin, Karen culpabilise à l'idée de quitter l'école et diffère la date de son mariage. Malgré tout, la vie s'écoule paisiblement et l'avenir semble radieux. Mais cette promesse de bonheur va être anéantie par le machiavélisme de Mary, une écolière tourmentée. Ses mensonges seront le début d'un engrenage funeste.
