Née à Nagasaki, Reiko Kruk arrive à Paris en 1971. D’abord conseillère artistique en cosmétique, elle crée l’atelier Métamorphose et développe de nouvelles techniques de maquillage d’effets spéciaux qui la rendront célèbre. De Nosferatu de Werner Herzog à Édith et Marcel de Claude Lelouch, en passant par Germinal ou Madame Butterfly, elle transforme radicalement l'approche des effets spéciaux et devient l'une des pionnières les plus appréciées des effets spéciaux.
Ce récit autobiographique retrace sa vie et son parcours hors du commun.
