Très remarqué au Festival de Berlin (2005), le film Etre sans destin est le premier long métrage de Lajos Koltai, chef opérateur favori d'Istvan Szabo, avec Marcell Nagy, Aron Dimény et Andras M. Kecskés sur une musique originale d'Ennio Morricone.
