Le livre, à son tour, illustré de photos de Howard Sooley, porte témoignage de ce film inclassable, proposant les deux scénarios successifs de Terry Eagleton et de Derek Jarman et un certain nombre de textes complémentaires sur cette rencontre "stellaire" entre le plus grand philosophe du XXe siècle, et le peintre, poète, cinéaste, dramaturge et agent provocateur le plus imprévisible de l'avant-garde anglaise. Son livre Chroma a été publié aux éditions de l'éclat en 2003.
