Je voudrais souligner d’abord que cette recherche s’inscrit dans la lignée d’une entreprise commencée ici-même, il y a plusieurs années, avec les numéros 3 (Vers une méthodologie) et 10/11 (Histoire du Cinéma) des Cahiers de la Cinémathèque.
Concernant le thème en question « Cent ans… », notre propos, certes, ne manquait pas d’ambition : il s’agissait de restituer au public du cinéma français une mémoire qu’il avait perdue, sauf sous les formes prescrites par l’idéologie officielle : sa propre histoire.
