La science s'empare des rayons X. Mais 1895 est aussi l'année des images qui s'achèvent. A la Salpêtrière, la mort de Charcot laisse un vide. Les images de malades n'ont pas permis d'élucider la question de l'hystérie. A Vienne, le Docteur Sigmund Freud s'arrache à l'influence de son ancien maître et à son obsession du "voir" : 1895 marque la véritable naissance de la psychanalyse.
