Pour beaucoup de cinéphiles, Jean-François Stévenin est une figure inclassable et bien visible du cinéma français. Réalisateur rare des mythiques Passe montagne (1978), Double messieurs (1986) et Mischka (2002), il est aussi un acteur marquant dans plus de 150 films, notamment pour François Truffaut, Jacques Demy, Raoul Ruiz, Jacques Rivette ou Jean-Pierre Mocky.
Sa trogne et sa gouaille sont devenus familiers d’un film à l’autre, dressant des ponts avec une grande liberté entre différentes familles de cinéma.
Ce livre d’entretien revient sur l’ensemble de sa carrière. Il contient également une préface de Pierre Stévenin et un cahier de 16 pages de photographies.

Ancien journaliste, Romain Sublon est actuellement co-programmateur du cinéma Star Saint-Exupéry (à Strasbourg) et intervenant en lycée (dans une classe de terminale option cinéma). Il travaille à l’écriture de son premier roman, à paraître fin 2025.
