Considéré comme lun des premiers grands cinéastes français de l'histoire, Jean Delannoy a longtemps symbolisé « la qualité made in France ». Certains films resteront gravés à jamais dans l'inconscient collectif tel « la Symphonie pastorale » qui mettait en lumière le talent de Michelle Morgan. La liste de ses œuvres est impressionnante tout comme celle des acteurs de légende avec lesquels il a travaillé. De Gina Lollobrigida en passant par Jean Gabin, Jean Marais, Anthony Quinn, Eric von Stroheim ou encore Michel Piccoli ou Micheline Presle. Débutée en 1934 avec « Paris-Deauville » sa carrière s'étend sur prés de 60 ans puisqu'il écrit, met en scène et réalise en 1995 « Marie de Nazareth ». Cet ouvrage « Jean Delannoy ses années lumière » est à la fois un hommage mérité à un homme d'exception ainsi qu'un regard global sur l'histoire du cinéma français. Forcément unique.
