À l'occasion de la restauration des deux films d'Orson Welles, Macbeth, sorti sur les écrans français en 1950 et aussitôt célébré par André Bazin et Jean Cocteau, et Othello, Palme d'or au Festival de Cannes en 1952, Carlotta Films publie dans un ouvrage richement illustré des images du réalisateur, deux nouvelles traductions des célèbres pièces de William Shakespeare. Au fil des pages, les images du réalisateur éclairent le texte d'un écho si singulier que la lecture s'anime des intentions du réalisateur, au point de finir par ne plus distinguer Shakespeare de Welles. L'ensemble compose une version entièrement renouvelée de ces deux drames. Le regard porté sur le texte de Shakespeare par Orson Welles est bien celui d un frère. Il révèle une part inconnue du cinéaste et l'écrivain. Préfaces de Patrick Reumaux et d'Antoine de Baecque.
